General course offerings are listed on the ÈâÈ⴫ý College in the High School webpage each term. Information on specific course sections, reflecting up-to-date course availability, is located within the student portal.

If you are interested in registering for a course but do not see it listed, please email cihs@hvcc.edu to determine if this is a course available to CIHS students.

When creating your account, you will be asked to select your high school. Homeschooled students are required to obtain course approval from someone either within the school district (e.g. homeschool admin, superintendent's office, etc.) OR through whatever entity you submit quarterly/annual reports to (e.g. local BOCES), and should use the information below on completing the high school field when creating their account.

• If your reporting is done through the local school district:
  • Select the school district in which you reside and submit reports to.
  • Once course registration is requested, the district will receive notification and be asked to approve your request.
    NOTE: You can follow up with your contact within the district to ensure they are aware of the request and complete their evaluation process to approve your request. 
• If your reporting is done through another entity:
  • Select "My High School is not listed"
  • Fill in three additional fields as follows:
    • For High School Name, enter the name of the BOCES or other entity you work with.
    • For Counselor Name and Email, enter the name and email address of the administrator you work with. This will allow them to be added to our system and approve any requests for course registration.

Course modality refers to how a student will get instruction from their instructor and participate in course activities. ÈâÈ⴫ý uses the following modalities:

• Hybrid = combination of instructional methods
• In-Person/Traditional = face-to-face meeting in a classroom (includes those courses taking place in your high school)
• Interactive Television = face-to-face meeting in a classroom broadcast to other learning environments
• Online (Asynchronous) = conducted entirely online and course materials are not presented in real time
• Remote = conducted via the internet with designated meeting times for online lecture

If there is a prerequisite, you will see the prerequisites included with the course information. For example, if a student wants to sign up for BADM 111, the prerequisite will show that they need to have completed BADM 110 first. Most students take entry level courses, so this field will be blank.

It is suggested that you speak with both your course instructor and your school counselor before deciding to drop or withdraw from a course.

If you decide that you need to drop/withdraw from your class, login to and select Drop/WD requests. This request will be reviewed by the Registrar’s Office and you will be removed from the class as long as the request is made within the published drop/withdrawal dates. When you submit a Drop/WD request, you school counselor will also be notified.

NOTE:

• Telling your instructor is not an official drop/withdrawal.
• You will not be automatically dropped from a course if you stop attending.
• If you stop attending without dropping or withdrawing by the published date, you will still receive a final grade for the course.

ÈâÈ⴫ý is required under IRS regulations to provide a Form 1098-T to each student enrolled in a course that offers college credit. This also includes high school students enrolled through their high school. As part of the 1098-T, the college is required to request the student’s Social Security Number.

ÈâÈ⴫ý works with high school counselors to review and approve course requests. After the student fills out an application, the counselor will need to complete the counselor review to approve course requests. Only then will the request be sent to ÈâÈ⴫ý for finalizing registration.

• Navigate to and select “High School Student”.
• If you are new to the Voyager system, select "+ Start New Application" to create your profile.
  • If you have previously created a Voyager account, login using your credentials. Please do not create a new account if you already have one. This will delay the process of regaining access. See the What do I if I am having trouble logging into Voyager or I forgot my username or password? FAQ.
• Enter your legal name and email (other than your high school email) to create a profile and then select "submit."
• You will receive an email with the subject "ÈâÈ⴫ý – Verify Email." Open the email and select the link to complete email verification.
  • If you do not see it in your inbox, check your junk/spam folder.
• Once your email is verified, you will now be prompted to complete your student profile.
  • NOTE: Security questions are used to set your ÈâÈ⴫ý account password, so be sure to choose answers you know you will remember easily.
• After completing your student profile, sign the Student Agreement and sect "submit" to view course offerings.

• Within one hour of creating your Voyager account, you will receive an email to your personal email address from ÈâÈ⴫ý with the subject line “ÈâÈ⴫ý Username and Password.”
  • Note your username in the email and select the link to the login page to create a password.
• After selecting "login," select the “Forgot Password?” link.
• On the following page, enter your username and follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.
  • NOTE: Password reset will require answers to the three security questions that were set in Voyager during your account setup.
• Please allow up to 15 minutes for your new password to be synchronized across all college computer and web systems after using this tool.

• Login to and select "Apply for Classes."
• Be sure to choose the corresponding tab to view the appropriate courses (classes in your high school or online/remote courses), then choose the course(s) you are requesting to register for.
• When finished, select “Apply for Selected” on the bottom of the page.
• To view the course(s) that you’ve applied for, scroll to the top of the page and select the “My Class Application(s)” tab. Class status options include:
  • Requested: You have requested the course and your school may now review/approve.
  • Approved: Your school has approved your course request, but you are not yet registered.
  • Registered: You are registered for the course.
    NOTE: If you’ve chosen an incorrect course, you may select that course and choose “Remove Selected” at the bottom of the page.
• Once you’ve applied to your course(s), your school guidance staff will confirm and approve them and then ÈâÈ⴫ý will register you for the class(es) is space remains.

If you have forgotten the answers to your security questions, you can request a password reset using the following methods:

• In-Person or remote via Zoom: You can obtain your username and reset your password with a photo ID by contacting one of the following offices:
  • Computer Learning Center, clchelp@hvcc.edu, (518) 629-7891, Lower Level of the Marvin Library Learning Commons
  • Registrar's Office, registrar@hvcc.edu, (518) 629-4574, Room 136 of the Guenther Enrollment Services Center
• Online: If you are unable to come to campus or meet via Zoom, you can request your username and a new password by completing the Username and Password Request form; your username and a new password will be mailed to your permanent address on file at the college.

• Navigate to and select "School Counselor or Administrator."
• If you are new to the Voyager system, select "+ Submit Access Request," fill out the form, and select submit.
• Once submitted, a CIHS staff member will review your request and approve.
• When you are approved, you will receive a confirmation email containing the password reset steps to gain access to Voyager.

Need additional help? .

• Once a student requests a course in Voyager, you will be notified via email.
  NOTE: You will also see pending requests within the “School Counselor or Administrator” portal in , where the “Students” tile will be clearly marked with a red highlight.
  
  • Upon entering the “Student” tab, you will immediately see student registrations marked as pending review. Select the student you’d like to review.
    • If the course requested is accurate and you approve of their request to enroll, approve the request and submit. The student will be notified of this approval.
    • If the course was selected in error or the student does not have the foundation needed to complete the course, you can reject the request, which will notify the student as well.
  • Once approved, the student’s request will then be sent to the ÈâÈ⴫ý system, where they will be registered as long as seats remain in the requested course and the student does not have any holds on their ÈâÈ⴫ý account.
  • To view status of a student’s request(s), select the “Students” tab, then “Registrations by Term.” The Status column will show “Registered” if the request was successfully completed.

If you have previously reviewed a student’s course request(s) and need to update it, you can:

• Log into and select the “Students” tile
• On the top tabs, select “Students by Term”
• Locate the student you are looking to update, and select the green “View Details” button
• Select the appropriate term for class recommendations (e.g. Fall 2024 Classes Recommendation)
• Make any edits needed and select “Submit Recommendation” to save changes

NOTE: The steps listed above can also be used to adjust a student’s eligibility for Free and Reduced Lunch Scholarships.
